Thursday, June 5 9am Las Vistas de Questa Trail
Meet at the trailhead parking lot off Don Martinez Road in Questa at 9 am. This is a moderately difficult 3.7 mile round trip hike.
Saturday, June 7 9am La Vista Verde Trail
Meet at the trailhead on NM 567, just above and west of Taos Junction Bridge for this easy 2 .5 mile round trip hike. Sensational views, petroglyphs and more on our most popular trail.
Wednesday, June 11 8:30 am Archaeology Hike
Join BLM archaeologist Merrill Dicks for a hike to the top of Cerro de la Olla. Meet at the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge rest area –from there we will drive out to the base of Cerro de la Olla and hike to the summit. This is a strenu- ous, all day trip so bring lunch and snacks, rain jacket, boots, water, sunscreen. Emphasis will be on learning about the prehistoric and historic cultural landscapes that are relevant to the Monument. Plan on 8 hours.
Friday, June 13 8 am Bird Walk
Meet at the Rio Grande Gorge Visitor Center in Pilar for this two hour easy walk to identify the birds of Orilla Verde. Led by Ryan Besser, BLM biologist.

Meet at the end of County Road C-110 (past UNM Klauer campus) for this moderate 3 mile hike. Spectacular views, history, and archaeology.
Saturday, June 14 8am Ute Mountain Hike
Meet at the Alta gas station in Costilla at 8 am. This is a steep hike in a proposed wiilderness area, with no trail. The hike will be led by John Olivas (NM Wilderness Alli- ance) and BLM geologist Daniel Rael. This is a difficult 6-mile round trip hike. Long pants and long sleeve shirts recommended.

Meet at the trailhead in Orilla Verde’s Pilar Campground on NM 570 for this easy 2.5 mile round trip hike in the lower gorge. Beautiful views of the area on one of our newest trails.
Saturday, June 21 Noon Geology of the Northern Rio Grande Valley
Meet at Wild River’s Visitor Center for a geology talk, fol- lowed by a hike down La Junta Trail. Your hosts will be geologists from three agencies—Andrew Valdez with Great Sand Dunes National Park, Cal Ruleman with the US Geological Survey, and Daniel Rael with BLM. The hike is on a steep trail, 3 miles round trip.

Meet at the trailhead on NM 567, on the west rim above Taos Junction Bridge, for this easy 2.5 mile round trip hike. Panoramic views and intriguing archaeology.
Saturday, June 28 8am Guadalupe Mtn. Trail
This moderately difficult 4-mile hike will start at the Gua- dalupe Mountain Trailhead in Wild Rivers, led by BLM park ranger/geologist Daniel Rael.
