Chaco Canyon Presentation – Cindy Brown

”Hiking at Chaco Canyon” is the topic of a talk by Taos News hiking columnist Cindy Brown to be given at Taos Mountain Outfitters on Friday, November 13 at 5:30 pm. A slideshow will feature two backcountry hikes, along with photos of petroglyphs and remains of stone buildings constructed a thousand years ago.

Brown recently visited Chaco Canyon in northwest New Mexico; the site of a series of spectacular ruins left by the Ancestral Puebloan people, also known as Anasazi. In addition to visiting several of the close-in ruin sites, such as Pueblo Bonito, she hiked two longer backcountry trails that lead to Pueblo Alto and Wijiji sites.
